She stepped into the light. She wore silver jewelry, and her dark hair was perfectly coiffed. She was very pale, and her long dress was jet black velvet .... She had the most amazing eyes, thought Richard. They were the color of foxgloves.

Warning to Those Threading With Lamia
Canonically, Lamia takes warmth from everyone around her, most obviously by way of mouth. There is some limit to her ability to do this in-bar (ping mun, phxtearshealme, for explanation) but it is still worth mentioning that she can take fair amounts of warmth when she wants it. [This version of Lamia comes from approximately two years before the events in the book. No one of the House of the Arch is dead, and she's never met Richard.]
